Project: Experiments in Lighting

Image
This is my picture "Bleached Pumpkin." I took this picture in my house. This is my bad lighting picture. It has very uneven lighting, and you can clearly see where my light is positioned by the reflection on the pumpkin. The way I have the light shining off the pumpkin takes away a lot of its texture too. This picture also has a pretty distracting background. This is my picture "October!!!" I took this picture in my fount yard. This is an example of good lighting since the lighting is very even. I took this picture outside on a cloudy day. The lighting really helps to define the shape and texture of the pumpkin. I also have the pumpkin lined up on a third line. These are my three pictures taken at different times of day: 9:45 AM 11:25 AM 6:30 PM These are my "Halloween Flowers" pictures. I took them in my front yard. I think the lighting is the best in the middle picture.  It was cloudy all weekend, so they are not as bright as they could have been. The ...

Midterm Fall 2020

This is my picture "Stormtrooper at the Conservatory."  I took this at the Franklin Park Conservatory. This picture has a really nice leading line. It leads to my subject helping to draw your eye to it. Its color is also good since the LEGO Stormtrooper is white and, for the most part, most of the picture is green and grayish. The white really contrasts with the green helping it draw attention. This picture also has a cool perspective. I have the camera down around the level of the railing looking down it. The railing also lines up with the rule of thirds. The bar holding up the railing is on the right verticle third line. Both the top right and lower left focal points are on the railing. The background also has some patterns with the bricks in the path. So in all, this picture has leading lines, color, perspective, rule of thirds, and some patterns!!! This is my picture "Six Feet." I also took this at the Franklin Park Conservatory. This picture has good color. M...

Project 4

Image
I was thinking of a name for this picture and my brother (who is the subject of the picture) said that it should be called "Adorable Me." 😂 I took this in Old Dublin. This is my example of framing. The bike locks act as a frame for my subject (my brother).    This is my picture "Perspective of Time." I took this in the family room of my house! This is an interesting perspective since you would probably not usually see a clock at this angle. I got really close to the clock and then angled my camera up so that I could get the top of the clock in my picture. This is my picture called "Bike Parking." I took this outside of the parking garage for the Old Dublin Library. This picture represents an interesting viewpoint.  The viewpoint is interesting, in part, since you can see all the light bulbs on the ceiling and the undersides of the stairs. It is also cool to be able to see the shape of the stairs. The bike sculpture adds to this perspective since it looks ...

Project One and Two Project Make Ups

Image
The first picture is for the first project. It is called "Historic Graves."  I took it at Indian Run Cemetery.   This picture represents the rule of thirds since the background is separated into thirds with the wall in the center third, the trees above, and the grass below. The main grave is also placed on a third line and is centered around the lower-left focal point.  The second picture is for the second project for symmetry.  It is called "My Crazy Brother."  I took this one in Old Dublin. It is an example of symmetry since human faces are symmetrical. I cropped it so that there was the same amount of space on each side.
