Project 3: Patterns and Backgrounds

 

This is my picture "Green Bottles."

I took it at a Meijers that is close to my house. 

This is an example of a pattern in a picture. It is the same bottle over and over creating a pattern that fades off into the distance.

This is my picture "COVID Shopping."

I took it at a Meijers that is close to my house. 

This is an example of a really bad background. First off, this is a very distracting background. The beams in the ceiling, watermelon, signs, and the woman in the background take the attention off of my subject (my little brother). Then there is the problem of the wire that looks like it is sprouting from his head. There is also a light that is shining directly at my camera that is rather distracting. Overall, this picture is not good, and it is an example of a very distracting and NOT visually pleasing background.

This is my picture "Pumpkin in the Woods."

I took this picture in my backyard.

This Picture is an example of a good background. The focus of this picture is completely on the pumpkin and leaves. It has a narrow depth of field. The background is blurred out so that all of your focus is drawn to the subject. The greens and browns in the background also help bring out the bright orange and blue of the pumpkin.
